Atlantis Net OOD is a specialised internet service provider serving a wide range of customers: residential users, private companies, industrial and commercial organisations, schools and more.

Atlantis Net operates its own autonomous system (AS29667) in global internet routing, with its own IPv4 and IPv6 address blocks.

History

Atlantis Net OOD was founded in 2003, but we have been offering internet access since 1999 (through Atlantis Trading OOD), when we built a direct connection to Sofia over a leased line from BTC running at 28.8 kbps!

We went on to offer dial-up services, put a high-speed satellite channel via Europe Online into operation, and built the first wireless link to Sofia with a capacity of 1.6 Mbps using Proxim (USA) equipment. In parallel, we launched a high-speed wireless network in Botevgrad and built wireless links to Pravets and later to Etropole.

In 2004 we started building our own cable networks for internet access, followed shortly by high-speed wireless links to Yablanitsa and Teteven, where we also began building cable and wireless networks.

In 2005 we commissioned a professional radio-relay system with STM-1 capacity (155 Mbps) using NERA Systems (Norway) equipment, and invested in several modern air-conditioned technical centres with first-class Cisco Systems and HP network equipment and powerful UPS systems.

In 2006 we also began building fibre-optic routes, greatly improving the reliability and quality of our cable networks. We built such networks in Botevgrad, Pravets, Etropole, Teteven and Yablanitsa, as well as in the villages of Vrachesh, Trudovets and Skravena.

In 2008 we put into service a fibre-optic channel to Sofia with a capacity of 2 × 1 Gbit/s, effectively guaranteeing the continuity of our internet backbone.

In 2009 we launched an affordable telephone service for our customers in cooperation with the national operator ITD Network.

In 2010 we built a 2 × 10 Gbit/s connection to the Bulgarian backbone network.
